Rowan class have used their understanding of the FANTASTICs to create an opening for a description.  They have tried to create their writing around the feeling of being scared.  Tomorrow they will continue this start, and produce a descriptive piece of writing...

Cautiously, I stare through the howling trees. My eyes are drawn to a deserted village before me.  Blood rushes through my veins as my heart beats like a drum.  Engulfed in mystery, smoke rages from the burning embers of a dying fire!

Autumn Term 1

Our first learning challenge at this year is 'Were the Anglo - Saxons really Smashing?' We will be experiencing our learning through the following questions:

LC1 Who were the Anglo-Saxons and how did they influence our life today?

LC2 How did the Anglo-Saxons bring law and order to Britain?

LC3 What evidence do we have today that the Anglo-Saxons were ever here in the first place?

LC4 Which Anglo-Saxon Christian symbols remain with us today?

LC5 Can you create your own Anglo-Saxon art focusing on tessellations? (maths game)

LC6 Who were the famous Anglo-Saxons and why was Alfred so ‘great’?

LC7 Can you work as a group to create a model Anglo-Saxon settlement?

LC8 Reflection: Using your model settlement, can you produce a filmed documentary about Anglo-Saxon life?
